RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES IN HIV-1 RNA (ROHR)
sponsored by The Center for Structural Biology of HIV-1 RNA (CRNA)
To apply for the summer 2025, please check back in the fall 2024 for application instructions
ROHR is an opportunity for undergraduate students to join one of the participating laboratories for an 8 to 10-week summer research experience during summer 2025. Applicants will be selected on a competitive basis. Preferably rising sophomores and juniors and students with a good research foundation. Students will be matched with laboratories according to their research interests and their top 3 laboratory choices provided on their application form. Students will most likely be matched with their top choice. Each selected undergraduate will work on projects under the direct supervision of faculty, postdoctoral fellows and/or senior graduate students.
Some of the student activities will include:
attendance at the NIH meeting in June 2025 (paired with a senior lab member)
cohort Zoom meetings, including student presentations with PIs in attendance
any activities that are required by the institutional summer program, if relevant
guest lectures on science, society, and social equity
Living expenses will be provided through funding from the CRNA, an NIH U54 grant, in collaboration with other existing REU programs at participating institutions.
Any questions can be directed to the ROHR Program Director, Gwen Clacher (gclacher@umich.edu)
